Email Error Messages

Firewater > ISP Support > Email

When trying to send and receive messages you may see the following error: "The server name you entered cannot be found on the network (it might be down temporarily). Please verify that you are online and that the server name is correct." This could be caused from a number of things so some basic diagnosis is provided below to help isolate where the problem lies.

  1. Are you connected to the internet?



If this does appear follow these steps:

Outlook 2010
  1. Click on file in the top left corner:

2.      Select Account settings, and again select account settings:



Outlook 2007 or Older

  1. Select "Tools" on the top menu. 
  2. Select account settings at the bottom


Both Outlook 2010 and older

 

3.     A pop up box will appear with your email address. Double click this or select it and then select change / edit existing account settings:


 

4.     From here, you will see all your details such as your username, Incoming Mail Server, Outgoing Mail server,etc. We will concentrate Incoming Mail Server, and Outgoing Mail Server.

5.     If your Incoming Mail Server says: pop.fwinternet.net, change this to 212.227.15.166. Alternatively if it already has these numbers in it, then revert back to pop.fwinternet.net|

6.     Click next / save
