Why do I Still My Old Website After Updating My DNS?

Firewater > ISP Support > Domains
This is the nature of DNS propagation. It could take up to 48 hours reflect changes throughout the web.

You can clear out your PC's DNS cache by flushing it but this is not always a solution as upstream proxies and ISP's on the network may also have an old cached DNS lookup that is being used.

Please see this link to learn how you can flush your DNS on a MAC: http://osxdaily.com/2008/03/21/how-to-flush-your-dns-cache-in-mac-os-x/

On windows – you can flush your DNS by following these instructions. http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/ClearingBrowserCache

We suggest making DNS updates after-hours or, better yet, over weekends to ensure that all servers update their records accordingly.

If you are developing a website - then you can test the new website by updating your machine's host header.

If you can plan your cut-over in advance, it is possible to change the TTL time to ensure quicker propagation of DNS record changes.
